Dreams

Posted on

Do you have dreams? Are they dreams that seem unattainable? Do you dream of incredible vacations, amazing personally designed houses, going to an honored school, having the most amazing and fulfilling job??? Is there anything you dream of that you feel will always stay a dream?

Why do they have to be dreams? Aren’t dreams something your subconscious does during the night while you sleep?

Change the word “dream” to “goal” and suddenly you no longer have a dream but a goal and you will achieve it. When you have a “dream” it stays a dream. When you have a goal, you set smaller goals to obtain the bigger goal and suddenly you have it. So many people waste their lives dreaming….I would like to coin a new term..”GOALING”….it’s taking a dream and changing it to a goal so instead of dreaming you can be goaling.

Let your dreams be something you involuntarily do at night and start achieving goals voluntarily during the day.

IT’S A CHOICE

Posted on

Everything in life is a choice. Some may disagree with me but just hear me out. Wether you live a good or bad life, wether you get up in the morning, what you do during your day and night, who you love, where you live, what you do….everything is a choice. If you have two broken legs and a friend calls you to go play basketball, you can play in a wheelchair…..It’s a choice! It may not be the same as before or as easy as what it was and it may be very different from what you’re used to but you can still choose to do and be the way you were. I live with an extremely rare illness and a brain tumor. I endure a minimum of 14 different symptoms per day from memory loss, extreme fatigue, pounding headaches, horrific visions, massive leg pain, the list goes on and on…..Most people who meet me would never know I have what I have and that I have an inoperable brain tumor that almost claimed my life one year ago. When people learn about it, the usual response is “WOW! How do you get out of bed in the morning? I know I wouldn’t.” Here’s what I tell them……”IT’S A CHOICE!!!!” When I wake up more tired than when I went to bed, when my legs hurt so much that the thought of walking to the washroom is dreadful forget the actual act, when my head is pounding..I simply make the choice. I make the choice to get up, enjoy my day, truly live that day all day through. I choose to get up and be a mom. I choose to get up and be a wife. I choose to get up and be a friend. I choose to get up and be a business owner and go in a run our businesses. I choose to be me and live my life. It all starts with a choice….for me it’s the choice to get out of bed or not and live. Everything is a choice. Make no excuses and simply choose what you want and you can have it. CHOOSE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE!

Life’s Attitude

If all of us could truly live for how we feel and what we care about and not what others think or feel, our lives would be so much greater. This is how we should live:

“I don’t have an amazing figure or a flat stomach. I’m far from being considered a model but, I’m ME. I eat food. I have curves. I have more fat than I should. I have scars because I have a history. Some people love me, some like me, some hate me. I have done good. I have done bad. I love my Pj’s and I go out without make up and sometimes don’t get my hair done. I’m random and crazy. I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not. I am who I am, you can love me or not. I won’t change! And if I love you, I do it with my Heart. I make no apologies for the way I am.”   -ilovemylife.

Why I started This Blog

Posted on

Good morning to everyone! I wanted to take a minute and let everyone reading understand why this Blog was created and where the name “Hero Within” came from. Just like many of you, I have been through my share of challenges in life. I grew up with an abusive alcoholic step-father, have been in a car accident, have had a horrific house fire and left homeless with two kids, have a daughter with a failing kidney, have battled AND CONQUERED cancer, had my best friend commit suicide and I was blamed by many, I currently live with a very rare illness and have a brain tumor. These are just a few of the many things I have been through. I do not believe or proclaim to have gone through more than anyone else, however, it is how I lived through each one and currently live today which may differ. See, I do not believe that what we are going through or what we have today defines who I am or dictates how I live. It is a choice. Everything in life is a choice. You can choose to let things bother you, frustrate you, depress you, sadden you, anger you, OR NOT! Believe it or not, you control your own mind. BUT YOU MUST CONTROL IT, or it won’t happen. I refer to this as my “Hero Within.” It’s that voice deep down inside me that tells me I want to be happy and have fun even in my most terrible moments. Your inner hero is the side of you that doesn’t quit no matter what. It’s the voice inside your head that tells you to do something even when everyone else tells you not to. It’s the deep down pit of your stomach feeling that says “GO for it. You can do it.” It’s the feeling of excitement and pride with yourself for doing something that no one thought you could do. It’s the feeling you get for thinking about achieveing something great and it encourages you to do it. It’s the belief inside you that you are great, you are worthy, you are someone, and you can and will do great things. Your Hero within is all of these things wrapped into one little fire ball that constantly stirs around in your body and mind. It flows through your veins like blood close to the surface so others can almost see so they know it’s there but it’s hidden just enough that it’s your powerful secret. Your hero. It’s the constant thing inside you that provides doubt when people say you can’t achieve something or you are less than perfect or great. If you can find this hero within, as you do have it, then life will never be the same. You will never go through life with a challenge again but rather a challenge with go through your life.

My goal is to help so many around the world going through a challenge or have a problem they simply can’t seem to overcome or feel like they are desperate. I want people to realize they are their own hero and can overcome anything AND  truly LIVE through anything.
